  Trama:
  
   La Principessa Amberle viene selezionata per essere una degli
Eletti, un gruppo di elfi che si prende cura dell'albero sacro Ellcrys, una sorta di "prigione" dimensionale dove sono
racchiusi i demoni. Ma quando Amberle tocca l'albero sacro ottiene una visione di un futuro terribile, dove i demoni si
sono liberati e l'albero è morto. Intanto il giovane Will, un mezzo-elfo, si mette in viaggio dopo la morte di sua
madre con le pietre magiche ereditate da suo padre per trovare il Druido Allanon.
  Sei dei prescelti sono stati
trucidati dal mutaforma; Will e Allanon scoprono che Amberle è in viaggio per andare da sua zia. Intanto si sospetta
che ci sia una spia nel regno elfico. Eretria fa un patto per ottenere la libertà, ma in cambio dovrà trovare Will
e consegnarlo al suo padrone.
